Sydney's Darling Harbour set for makeover

Work is expected to start next year on revamping Sydney's Darling Harbour Golden Goose Sale https://www.goldengooseshoesit.com/ precinct.

The New South Wales government has signed two public private partnerships.

The first stage will redevelop the convention and exhibition centres as well as the entertainment facilities.

The second stage around Haymarket will result in a bigger Tumbalong Park and better pedestrian and public transport access to Darling Harbour.

Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner says the whole project will create 4,000 ongoing jobs and inject $200 million a year into the state's economy.

"[The project] has at its core the opening up of Darling Harbour to use by the public," he said.

"I'm excited that a key feature of this design is not only to drive the economy through more conventions and business delegate visits but also to engage the public, the surrounding community and visitors to the Darling Harbour area."

A leading tourism body has welcome the plans to reinvigorate the Darling Harbour precinct.

Trent Zimmerman from the Tourism and Transport Forum says it is important there will still be large amounts of green space for tourists to enjoy.

"Darling Harbour is one of the most popular destinations https://www.goldengooseshoesit.com/ for tourists from both overseas and around Australia," he said.

"So expanding Tumbalong Park is good news, it's a win-win both for tourists that are coming here for leisure and also for the business events sector which is one of the most highly contested and valuable parts of the market."
