Re: Golden Goose Outlet Highlands
Christmas berry shortage
Tasmanian berry growers are worried their raspberries won't be ripe in time for Christmas.
Cool, wet weather has delayed the season and most crops are not expected to ripen until the new year. The fruit that is ready has gone soft because of recent rain.
A farmer from Westerway in the Central Highlands, Richard Clark, says raspberries are very popular for the festive season and the shortage means a likely https://www.goldengooseshoesit.com/ price rise.
"If we don't have raspberries before the Christmas market all my wholesalers, all my retailers they get quite upset", he said. "The cost of production is slightly higher than normal, so that probably will be passed on."
A Hobart Golden Goose Outlet retailer, Paul Stone, is concerned that his store won't be able to meet demand.
"We're hopeful we can fill the orders that have been put to us but we're a bit concerned that we might run out", he said. "We're not really concerned about price, we're more concerned about supply at the moment."
